Welcome to Camping / Chambre d'Hôtes / Gîtes  La Cour d'Enchère in Saint-Palais. We are Ron, Ellen and Thomas Gelderblom originally from The Netherlands. We've been living here since 2017 permanently. We chose the Allier region because of its quiet and unique charm with various unspoilt medieval villages, castles and historic towns against a picturesque background of hills, rivers and farmland. This area has a continental climate with the ideal balance between warmth during the day but a refreshing coolness during the night. Not only this, but since it used to be a volcanic region, the soil is very fertile, which often results in fields of wheat, barley, sunflowers or coleseeds during summer times.


Camping

In the middle of the peaceful French countryside you'll find our campsite with beautiful scenery. We have hardstanding pitches for camping cars and caravans and a campground for tents.
Top quality modern toilets and shower facilities, cleaned throughout the day and an indoor dishwashing area. Enjoy our weekly BBQ evening with homemade recipes and daily, fresh baked bread from a traditional, local french bakery.

Chambre Cello

La chambre d'hôtes Cello est à la fois luxueuse et spacieuse. Il peut accueillir jusqu'à quatre personnes et comprend deux chambres et une salle de bain privée et spacieuse. La deuxième chambre, qui comprend 2 lits simples, est accessible par la chambre principale et est idéale pour une famille avec enfants.
Le petit-déjeuner, comprenant du pain fraîchement sorti du four, sera servi chaque matin dans la salle à manger entre 8h00 et 10h00.


Chambre Cheval

The guest room Cheval (meaning horse in french) is both luxurious and spacious  and suitable for 2 persons. Details include a bespoke bedframe made from parts of an antique horse carriage. It also has a lovely sitting area in front of what used to be a bread oven. The bathroom however, is fully modernised to suit your needs.  Breakfast will be served every morning in the dining room between 8:00 and 10:00am.



Gîte Chasseur

The spacious cottage Chasseur (hunter in french) has 2 separate bedrooms for 2 people each, living room with kitchen and a seperate toilet and shower. It's called "the Chasseur" because it used to be a retreat for the local hunters both before and after the hunt, to relax and have lunch and a drink. Ofcourse it has been completely remodeled into a cottage including heating, a kitchen with an induction furnace, a fridge and free Wi-Fi. The fresh decor and authentic details ensure a wonderful stay, completed with the characteristic silence of the countryside. The cottage is fully accessible to disabled people

Ever wanted to go camping, without having to bring everything with you?

In our Safari tents there is room for 2 adults and 3 children. It consists of 2 bedrooms, one with bulkbed and single bed, the other with a double bed, and a living room. On arrival, the beds have already been made, including towels for washing or swimming, the fridge is already cold and the furnace is ready to cook with.

The tent is a fantastic way to give you a worry-free experience in camping. With the removable kitchen it is even possible to cook in the open air. Enjoy the view from the terras.

The Allier region is excellent for cycling and walking. Explore the unspoilt natural beauty of the countryside. There are great walking and cycling routes through this region, such as GR Sur les pas des Maîtres Sonneurs, but we have also created routes that you can use.

We are proud partner of Het Franse Pad - Ça marche en campagne since 2019.

Chapelle Saint-Rémy

Chapelle Saint-Rémy à Saint-Sauvier: dédiée à Saint-Rémy, cette chapelle du XIIe siècle et sa source d'eau inépuisable et miraculeuse est un lieu de pèlerinage important de l'ancien monde jusqu'en 1828, où elle est interdite, mais elle se poursuivra jusqu'en 1937. Achille Allier décrit en détail dans le "vieux Bourbon". Le 24 juin, de nombreux pèlerins viennent boire de l'eau de la fontaine ou nager pour soulager les rhumatismes ou les maladies des yeux ou la paralysie et même les coliques. À l'intérieur, nous trouvons un superbe cadre de coque en forme de coeur.
